Speech is the mirror of the soul. Profanity is ignorance made audible.
Every time we open our mouth to speak, we reveal something of our character.
Some speak and write edifying and uplifting words of
kindness,
encouragement, compassion, beneficial instruction, and good cheer. Others'
words often reveal anger, negativism, criticism, disdain, arrogance, and
foul profanity.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good person out
of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things. An evil
person out of evil treasure brings forth evil things. For every idle word
that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.
