What is the good word for this April day?
Peace  ~  True love is peaceable.

True love is peaceable.
It is peace-loving and peace-nurturing.
It is not confrontational or contentious.
It is not touchy or easily offended.
It will not be overtaken by wrath or rage.

  • Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9
  • Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled [and do not] let it be afraid. John 14:27
  • Follow after the things which make for peace and things with which one may edify another. Romans 14:19
  • Be of one mind. Live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11
  • Let the peace of God rule in your hearts ... Be thankful. Colossians 3:15
  • Avoid+ evil and do good. Seek peace and follow+ it. 1 Peter 3:11

Or do ever lose your temper and explode with anger? Are you sometimes cranky, cantankerous, highly emotional, tempermental, hyper-sensitive, volatile, easily agitated, antagonistic, confrontational, belligerent, quarrelsome, or contentious?

Whatever your natural temperament might have been in the past, you can acquire a calm, peaceful, relaxed, slow-to-anger, soft-spoken, easy-going, unflappable, even temperament ... if you are willing to take the following seven steps seriously:

    1. Admit to yourself that you have a problem in this area.
    2. Confess the problem to God and make a resolute decision to become different.
    3. Trust in God.

Peace: A peacemaker, even-tempered, not easily offended, slow to anger, not defensive, composed, relaxed, unflappable, soft-spoken, silent in the face of false accusations, one whose trust in God shows through in both the words and the tone of voice and the comportment in which they speak (a soft voice breaks hard bones).

Anger: Emotional, temperamental, hyper-sensitive, volatile, easily agitated, confrontational, antagonistic, belligerent, quarrelsome, contentious, baiting, provoking, reactive (reacts with furious rage), hostile, indignant, wrathful, bristling, abrasive, argumentative, contemptuous, sows discord, hot-tempered, explosive, intense, strife-provoking, operates on feelings, obnoxious, vitriolic, evil-tongued, harbors bitterness and animosity.

  • I have spoken these things to you so that in me you might have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer~. I have overcome the world. John 16:33
  • To be carnally minded [is] death, but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. Romans 8:6
  • Live peaceably with everyone. Romans 12:18
  • God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33
  • The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace ... Galatians 5:22
  • Endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3
  • The peace of God that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
  • Be at peace among yourselves. 1 Thessalonians 5:13
  • Follow righteousness, faith, true love, and peace. 2 Timothy 2:22
  • Follow peace with all people, and holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
  • The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, yielding, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17-18
  • Be diligent so that you may be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless. 2 Peter 3:14
